Tristan Benashvili, Giorgi Gzobava, and Zurab Guraspashvili were elected by the Parliament to the High Council of Justice. Anri Okhanashvili, Chair of the Legal Issues Committee presented the respective draft resolutions as well as the biographic information of the candidates.
The competition for the election of five members to the High Council of Justice has been announced and the candidates have been nominated. The Legal Issues Committee heard from the candidates, and both the Majority and Opposition Members of Parliament had the opportunity to ask questions and listen to the answers given by certain candidates,” he said.
Three candidates were selected from 29 candidates who were presented to the plenary session for voting.
The second round will reveal candidates for the 2 remaining vacant positions. Rusudan kvinikadze, Goga Kikilashvili, Levan nemsadze, and Nino Nishnianidze all received 89 out of a possible 88 votes. Two more members will be chosen from the remaining candidates to join the High Council of Justice.
