The Polish Presidency: During the GAC’s first session, European Affairs Ministers as well as partner countries that are aspiring to membership attended. Georgia’s place was vacant.  

EU and partner countries’ ministers met recently. However, Georgia was not represented at the meeting.

According to a statement from the Polish Presidency of the EU Council, an empty seat was left for Georgia during the meeting. The statement said that European Affairs Ministers and other countries hoping to join the EU took part in the informal gathering.

The fact that Georgia’s seat was empty has been confirmed by the Polish Presidency on their official social media page.
