Freedom Square Becomes a Political Party
The movement Freedom Square has changed its status to become a political party. A special congress was held to make this decision official.
Before the meeting, attendees watched a video that showed all of Freedom Square’s activities since it began until now. They also approved the new party charter and elected members for important positions, such as the audit commission, the chairman, and the National Council.
Levan Tsutskiridze, leader of the new party, spoke to journalists about its goals. He said that Freedom Square will be a modern, democratic party that wants to take back control of the country from the current government, Georgian Dream.
Tsutskiridze stated that their main goal is to create a strong political force in Georgia. He believes that this can only happen if the state becomes truly democratic and if the country joins the European Union.
