Salome Zurabishvili met with leaders of the opposition at the Orbeliani Palace to discuss the urgency of finalizing the election results.
“Legitimacy is a matter of internal dictation, not foreign influences.” The first scenario is that the Georgians declare that the election results do not reflect their choices. The second option is to declare that we are sure that half the population supports the ruling political party. If we follow the first, the elections won’t be legitimized in the country and the voice of the people will be heard internationally,” Gvaramia said.
Gvaramia stated that the coalition is not officially in favor of the entrance into parliament and advised against declaring individual views that could contradict the view of the party as an entire. The coalition’s aim is to help the Georgian people navigate the aftermath of the election.
