Protests Resume at Georgia’s Constitutional Court
A new round of protests has started outside the Constitutional Court of Georgia. The protesters are demanding two main things: for detainees to be released immediately and for new parliamentary elections to take place.
Women joined in with a march from Batumelebi’s office, one of the protest groups. The crowd was heard chanting slogans like “Fire to the Oligarchy” and “Freedom for the Regime’s Prisoners“.
The protesters are clear about their goals. They say they are fighting against the government because it is unfairly holding people who want freedom in prison. They also claim that this government is not legitimate.
“We want a European future,” they said, adding that their protest is peaceful.
