Protests Continue Near Parliament
The protests near the Georgian parliament have resumed. Rustaveli Avenue is now blocked.
More people joined the demonstration today, including women from the “Women’s March”. They came to the scene in a procession from the Philharmonic Hall and were also joined by others gathered near the Public Broadcaster.
Protesters are holding various banners and chanting slogans like “Fire to the oligarchy!” and “Solidarity with Mzia, solidarity with Elene!”. Many are waving flags of Georgia, the US, and the EU. Some protesters have lit flashlights as a sign of solidarity.
The protesters’ demands remain the same: new elections should be announced, and those arrested during the protests should be released.
