**Retirement Home’s Bank Account Was Frozen Over Debt**
The bank account of the Ivanovic retirement home in Serbia was frozen in 2020 due to a debt. This happened just before a fire broke out at the home, killing 8 people and injuring 7 others.
**Retirement Home Had Financial Problems**
According to National Bank of Serbia data, the only bank account the Ivanovic home had was frozen on January 17, 2020. The reason for this was a debt that grew to 11.6 million Dinars (almost 100,000 Euro) by now. This means that the retirement home did not have access to its own money.
**Retirement Home Had Permit Despite Financial Problems**
Despite having a frozen bank account, the Ivanovic retirement home was issued a permit on June 1, 2021. The home is allowed to house 29 people and its permit expires in 2027. The cost of staying at the home ranges from 600 to 1,000 Euro.
