Russian occupiers continue to capture more Ukrainian towns in Donetsk Oblast including Vuhledar.
According to ArmyInform, Russian troops in eastern Ukraine have been bombarding Kyiv with artillery, guided bombs and hundreds of FPV-equipped drones.
Despite being outnumbered both in equipment and personnel, Kyiv’s troops continue to hold on in the east. The Russian occupiers, however, are advancing and capturing more villages and towns, including Vuhledar. Ukraine expects Western partners including the US to approve the strike of targets on Russian territory, like airfields, ammunition depots, aviation bombs, and military base. While the Russian forces continue to destroy Ukrainian settlements, Ukraine is waiting for approval from Western partners including the US.
“In our sector we primarily follow tactics that have been used in other cities in Donetsk oblast. They destroy our fortifications, cities, and homes with artillery so that our defenders are left without cover. They then send small groups of soldiers to attack our positions, looking for weaknesses in our defense,” explained Bobovnikova.
The counter-battery operation yields some results, but occupiers possess a large number of weapons, military gear, and personnel.
“Our artillery produces significant results every day.” In the last 24 hours, we have destroyed several enemy artillery systems. They have too many soldiers and artillery, as well as equipment and ammunition. Unfortunately, this is what we see on the frontlines. In some areas they are limited in their ability to succeed; in other areas we limit them. “But the sheer number enemy forces is visible,” said the spokesperson.
The occupants are also using guided bombs against the Ukrainian Defense Forces. They also heavily use FPV drones to target Kyiv forces.
“They deploy hundreds of FPVs every day.” Bobovnikova added, “We are not talking about a handful or even dozens of FPVs but hundreds in our area of responsibility.”
The Ukrainian Defense Forces had earlier conducted a strike that resulted in an explosion at a depot of oil in Rovenky, which is a city located in the Russian-occupied Luhansk Oblast.
