**Russia Drone Attack Damages Energy Infrastructure in Western Ukraine**
A Russian drone attack on the city of Ternopil, located in western Ukraine, damaged energy infrastructure and left part of the city without power. Mayor Serhiy Nadal reported that a Russian drone struck an unspecified energy facility within the city.
No casualties were immediately reported in the attack. Emergency response workers are currently on-scene to assess the damage.
Ternopil is not typically a target for Russian attacks, as it lies hundreds of kilometers from the front line. However, in recent days, the city has experienced multiple drone swarm attacks by Russia.
**Recent Attacks on Ukraine**
Russia continues to target energy infrastructure across the country with drone and missile attacks, aiming to plunge Ukrainians into another harsh winter without adequate power and energy resources.
On December 2, a Russian drone struck a high-rise building in Ternopil, killing at least one person and injuring three. The attack comes as Russia launches thousands of drones each month on various regions of the country.
The international community has condemned Russia’s actions. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia is seeking to plunge Ukrainians into another harsh winter without adequate power and energy resources.
Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry also condemned the violent crackdown by Georgian authorities against pro-EU protesters, saying the government’s steps demonstrate a “turn toward Moscow.”
**European Support**
The European Union has pledged support for Ukraine. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited Ukraine’s capital on December 2, promising to announce the delivery of €650 million worth of arms to be supplied this December.
