Protest at Georgian Public Broadcaster
A protest is happening outside the Georgian Public Broadcaster. The protesters are calling for the public broadcaster to be controlled by the people, not a small group.
The protesters say that the voice of society is not being heard on the television station’s airwaves. They want more time for important issues and news to be shown.
Some supporters of Mzia Amaghlobeli, who runs online media outlets Batumelebi and Netgazeti, are taking part in the protest. They are asking for her release, along with others who were arrested during earlier protests.
The protesters plan to march from the television station to the Parliament building later on. A long-standing protest has been going on there for 63 days.
