Next week, Parliament will start its new session.
This is a regular event. The first Tuesday of February marks the beginning of the spring session. On this day, all members of Parliament will gather for a big meeting called a plenary session.
There are 81 members from the “Georgian Dream” party in this Parliament. Another group, called “People’s Power”, broke away from the “Georgian Dream” and now works against them as opposition.
Three other groups – “Coalition for Change,” “Strong Georgia,” and “Unity – National Movement” – don‘t want to take part in Parliament activities because they say the last election was unfair. They told Parliament about this back in November, but so far nothing has been done.
The “Georgian Dream” says that soon after the new session starts, a special investigation group will be created to look into crimes that happened while the “National Movement” was in power.
