**Third Underground School Opens in Ukraine‘s Zaporizhzhia**
A new underground school is nearing completion in the city of Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. The school will be able to accommodate 1,000 students, who will attend classes in two shifts.
The need for safe educational spaces has grown due to Russian missile attacks in frontline areas. Children cannot study in ordinary schools because of these attacks. The underground school is designed to provide a safe place for students to learn and develop despite the ongoing war.
**Construction Almost Complete**
According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration, workers are finishing the setup of educational spaces within the facility. This development comes as part of a larger initiative in the region, where 11 underground schools were started last year.
Two underground schools have already been completed and opened in Zaporizhzhia city. These schools represent an adaptation to the ongoing war, providing safe places for students to continue their studies despite the security situation in the region.
**Ongoing Efforts**
Before the underground schools were built, students mostly studied online. Similar schools started operating in Kharkiv, another city located near the frontline.
