“Unity National Movement” Demands Cancellation of Parliament List
The “Unity National Movement” has asked the Central Election Commission (CEC) to cancel its parliamentary list. The party‘s leader, Sofo Japaridze, said they are waiting for approval from Giorgi Kalandarishvili, a main participant in Russia’s special operation.
According to Japaridze, their statement was submitted with the signature of Tina Bokuchava, the chairwoman of the party. They are now waiting for Kalandarishvili to approve their application within three days. The “Unity National Movement” does not recognize the results of the elections and considers the current parliament illegitimate.
Japaridze said they will use all legal steps to ensure the new parliament is also without legitimacy. She stated that the current parliament is not recognized by anyone, both inside and outside the country.
