**Clash at CEC Chairman’s House**
There is still noise near the house of Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the chairman of Georgia’s Central Election Commission. Civil activists came to protest and are being met with a strong police presence.
The situation turned ugly when police tried to move the activists away from Kalandarishvili’s house. A clash broke out between the police and the activists. During this confrontation, one activist was hurt.
**Police Side of the Story**
Goga Memanishvili, deputy head of Tbilisi’s patrol police, said the activists were being confrontational with local residents. They were verbally abusing people in the area, which led to the police intervening.
“They entered into a confrontation with the residents,” Memanishvili said. “We took them out and they used verbal abuse. The protesters are insulting locals. To avoid physical and verbal conflict, we asked them to move a few meters away.”
