Thousands of people took to the streets on October 26 to protest the results of the elections, which gave the official victory to the ruling Georgian Dream Party. Salome Zurabishvili, the president of Georgia and opposition parties all rejected the results. They declared the elections invalid, refused to enter Parliament and some also vowed that they would withdraw their parliamentary list. They also showed determination to battle until victory. The rally was the first in a long while that the opposition parties were united to address the crowd. They also demanded a new election under an international electoral authority.
