Thousands of people took to the streets across Europe on Sunday. They were protesting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
In Prague, Czech President Petr Pavel spoke to a crowd of thousands. He said that it was clear who was responsible for the invasion and who needed help. “If we let international law be broken, then it will affect us too,” he warned.
Similar protests took place in Brussels and Paris. In Paris, people carried a long flag to show their support for Ukraine. The flag was 262 meters long.
Europe is worried about its role in peace talks between Russia and the United States. Some European leaders are concerned that they may not be allowed to participate in these talks.
Protests also took place in Toronto, Canada. Thousands of people, including Canadian politician Chrystia Freeland, showed their support for Ukraine. They want to help Ukraine resist Russian aggression.
Canada is interested in helping Ukraine with security guarantees.
