Sozar Subari and Dimitri Khundadze have left the Georgian Dream party. Mamuka Minadaradze, Chairman Georgian Dream faction released a press release following the majority session.
“Valuable team members and friends Sozar, Mikheil, and Dimitri Khundadze will be leaving the Georgian Dream party, faction and parliamentary positions,” said he.
Mdinaradze explained why the MPs made the decision. He said that they believe more information about political events and facts should be shared from behind the scenes. They need a free mandate for this as there could be inconveniences in the team.
“The party had discussed this issue in the past. It was a controversial topic at today’s session. They believe that our team is not providing enough information about political issues to enable the public to reach the right conclusions. They think that more information about political events and facts should be released from behind the scenes. After a discussion and an argument, they decided they needed a free parliamentary mandat to express themselves, as there may be some inconveniences in the team. They made this decision. The team did not support it, but this is their final choice,” said Mdinaradze.
