According to Belaruski Hajun, a monitoring group, three Shahed drones entered Belarusian airspace on Oct. 3 while Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko was traveling by helicopter over the country. The drones came from Ukraine’s Chernihiv Oblast and were seen heading towards Belarus‘ Gomel Oblast. Two of the drones flew over Novaya Guta towards Gomel, while the third flew over Loyew in the same region. Lukashenko’s helicopter was reportedly flying south from his Ozerny residence at the same time.
Earlier that day, Ukraine had issued an air-raid warning for its northern regions due to the threat of Russian Shahed drone attacks. However, the Kyiv Independent was unable to verify the claims made by the monitoring group.
This incident occurred about a month after the Belarusian Air Force shot down Shahed-type drones over its airspace for the first time on Sept. 5.
