**Ukraine’s Nuclear Power Plants Back Online**
Three Ukrainian nuclear power plants have restored most of their electricity production after Russian attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure. This is according to a report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The Khmelnytskyy, Rivne, and South Ukraine nuclear power plants were affected by Russian missile and drone strikes in November. The IAEA reported that these plants have increased their output after the attacks.
**No Mention of Russia**
However, the IAEA’s report does not mention Russia as the party responsible for the damage to the Ukrainian energy grid. Instead, it refers to the conflict only as “a conflict”.
The UN agency has stated that a stable electricity grid is essential for nuclear safety at Ukraine’s operating power plants.
**IAEA Monitoring**
The IAEA team continues to monitor maintenance activities at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), which has not generated electricity since 2022. The team reports hearing distant explosions most days, but no damage to the plant was reported.
