Report on Georgia’s Dependence on Russia, published by International Transparency – Georgia, states that the share of Russians in the total number visitors to Georgia will be 20% between January and June 2023.
“In January-June 20,23, 578,000 Russian visitors visited Georgia, which is twice as many as the rate in January-June 2012. However, it is still 16% less than the pre-pandemic rate for 2019. The share of Russians in the total number is visitors to Georgia, which is 20%. The share of Russian citizens in the total number of visitors to Georgia has never exceeded 20%.
Some Russian visitors have been living in Georgia for many years. According to GeoStat 62,300 Russians stayed in Georgia by 2022“, states the report.
