Georgia Launches New Tech Program for Entrepreneurs
The Georgian government has launched a new tech program to help entrepreneurs and small businesses grow. The first stage of the program, which started on September 30th, is focused on IT technology.
The program aims to create jobs, increase competitiveness, and develop the country’s economy. It will provide training, mentorship, and funding for startups and small businesses in various fields, including software development, web design, and computer graphics.
According to officials, over 1,000 people have registered for the program so far, with a goal of reaching 2,000 participants by the end of the year. The program includes courses on entrepreneurship, marketing, and project management, as well as training in IT technologies like coding and data analysis.
Sandro Asatiani, Director of Unilab, said: “The program is designed to help entrepreneurs develop their skills and knowledge. It’s not just about learning new things, but also about making connections and getting support from experts and other business owners.”
One participant, Alek’sandre Maqashvili, praised the program for its focus on practical training and real-world applications. “The courses are really hands-on,” he said. “You learn by doing, not just by listening to lectures. It’s great for entrepreneurs who want to apply their skills in the real world.”
The program is a joint initiative between Georgian government agencies, Unilab, and other partners like USAID and PH International. Funding for the program comes from private and public sources.
The first stage of the program has already attracted many participants, with more expected to join as it continues.
