EU Won’t Recognize Georgia‘s Elections
The foreign ministers of the European Union will meet on Monday. They will likely say that the recent elections in Georgia are not legitimate.
Tina Bokuchava, a leader of the “Unity National Movement“, said this is probably true. The EU has 27 member states, and 25 of them don‘t think the election was fair. So, it’s unlikely they will be recognized by the EU.
Bokuchava wants an investigation into what happened during the elections. She thinks this should be done by the international community because she doesn’t trust the government in Georgia to do a fair job.
The foreign ministers of the European Union are meeting on November 18 to discuss what’s happening in Georgia. They will probably talk about how they can show their support for the people of Georgia.
