Tina Bokuchava said that the European Union will soon agree on a mechanism to investigate the operation which completely hijacked the election results.
According to her, she believes that the European Union should take a leadership role in the international investigation.
“The international investigation, we believe, is important. We also believe that the European Union, due to the efforts made by the Georgian people to become a candidate nation, should play a major role in this. Therefore, decisions about whether the European Union cancels visa-free travel, or whether to impose sanctions against Bidzina, should be based upon the information that was received during the election. The prosecutor‘s office, however, cannot and will not provide that information, as it is itself the main participant in the special operation
There are several mechanisms, such as the resolution of European Parliament and the meeting of foreign ministers in the European Union. The political will is a reality. Except for a few exceptions, no member state of the European Union congratulates or recognizes the legitimacy of these elections. The civilized world knows that these elections are neither fair nor free. In the near future, the European Union will agree on the exact mechanism to be used to study this operation of hijacking the total election results.
Tina Bokuchava said, “They may also consider searching for evidence from the European Union themselves in addition to our evidence and the evidence of non-governmental organisations.”
