**Opposition Unity Key to Success**
The opposition in Georgia needs to show unity, says Tina Bokuchava. She is the Chairperson of the United National Movement.
Bokuchava spoke at a meeting between the President and the opposition. She said that the public wants the opposition to work together. This should be done under the leadership of the President’s institution, she added.
The President’s institution is seen as legitimate because it is not backed by Russia. Georgia has been criticized for being controlled by Russia through its leader Bidzina Ivanishvili and his associates.
**Restoring Democracy**
Bokuchava believes that opposition unity is essential to restore democracy in the country. This can be done by achieving key public demands, including the release of political prisoners and new elections.
However, these elections should not be controlled by Ivanishvili’s regime or its extensions. They must be free and fair, with an independent electoral administration in place.
