Georgian Opposition Leader Speaks Out Against International Visit
Tina Bokuchava, Chairwoman of the Unity – National Movement, has spoken out against an upcoming visit from a delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Bokuchava met with journalists after meeting with the delegation. She said that their goal is to collect evidence of human rights violations in Georgia. The delegation will also meet with detainees who have been targeted by the government for torture and inhuman treatment.
The delegation has already stated that their visit does not aim to legitimize the current government, which Bokuchava sees as a “Russian regime“. She believes that the visit is actually part of an effort to collect evidence against the government’s human rights abuses.
