Negotiations on the European Parliament‘s resolution about Georgia are starting in Strasbourg. This resolution is meant to stop the October 26 elections from being recognized.
Tina Bokuchava, a leader of the “Unity–National Movement” party, said this resolution will help keep the current government from getting official recognition. She believes that these elections did not reflect the people’s true wishes.
According to Tina Bokuchava, the goal is to keep the policy of not recognizing the election results. This will make way for new elections that are free and fair. The resolution in the European Parliament will be another tool to show that the current government does not represent the Georgian people.
