**Elections in Georgia to be Held Tomorrow are Illegal, Says Former Minister**
Tomorrow’s elections in the Parliament of Georgia will be against the law and the constitution, says Tina Khidasheli, a former Minister of Defense. She believes that these elections are illegal because Kavelashvili was appointed as president by an illegitimate parliament.
**Constitution Not Followed**
Khidasheli also points out that specific articles of the Constitution are being violated. She says that the election of the president will take place without following the terms set by the constitution and law. The Constitution requires a 30-day period for candidates to prepare for the elections, but this has not been respected.
**Illegitimate Parliament**
The self-proclaimed parliament has appointed a procedure for the appointment of the president without being recognized as legitimate. This is another issue on its own, says Khidasheli. She adds that it’s problematic when an illegitimate parliament continues to take actions that are against the law and the Constitution.
**No Exceptional Case Mentioned**
The Election Code provides for exceptional cases where different deadlines can be set. However, the Parliament of Georgia did not mention any such case in its resolution. Khidasheli finds it puzzling why they are rushing with these elections.
