Tom Malinowski (former US congressman, assistant secretary of State for democracy, human right and labor) said this when evaluating the election.
He noted that the election saw a higher voter turnout than the previous elections. This shows Georgia‘s commitment towards democratic processes.
“In the 2024 Georgian parliamentary elections, a higher turnout of voters was recorded than the previous elections. Georgia is committed to democratic processes. It is evident that the people of Georgia do not want to leave Europe, but rather want real democracy. The world is therefore watching to see if the Georgian leadership will accept the votes of the voters. “As for the results, there have been complaints about them, including legitimate questions related to the fairness and integrity of the electoral process,” said Malinowski.
