The special restrictions for light and passenger vehicles travelling through the Rikoti Construction Area between eastern and west Georgia have been lifted.
The Department of Highways has reported that, due to the significant decrease in traffic on the Rikoti Pass Road, the design work for stabilizing the slope at km149 of said road was completed and preparatory construction had begun. The special traffic regime established on the Rikoti Pass changed as of October 12.
“The special regime has been canceled for light vehicles and passenger cars. They can now move along the Rikoti Pass road at any hour of the day or night without restrictions.
“A special regime for motor vehicles with semi-trailers and trailers remains in effect, but it is extended by four hours. Motor vehicles with semi-trailers and trailers will be allowed to move on Rikoti in both directions from 21:00 until 07:00.
“24-hour surveillance will continue on the Rikoti Pass section.”
