**Trump Changes His Mind on Ukraine War**
U.S. President Donald Trump said something new about the war in Ukraine. On February 21, he admitted that Russia was the one who started the full-scale war by attacking Ukraine.
Just a few days ago, Trump blamed Ukraine for starting the war. He said Kyiv should have made a deal instead of fighting. But now, he says Russia is the aggressor and shouldn’t have attacked Ukraine.
**What Did Trump Say?**
Trump said in an interview with Fox News Radio that “Russia attacked, but they shouldn’t have let him attack.” He also said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and former U.S. President Joe Biden should have done something to prevent the full-scale invasion.
Trump also claimed that Ukraine’s president was not important to future peace negotiations. This is interesting because the U.S. did not invite Zelensky or any Ukrainians to talk with Russian officials in Saudi Arabia on February 18. Trump said there was no reason to invite Zelensky “because he did such a bad job in negotiating so far.”
**What’s Going On?**
Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Trump has been using harsh words towards Ukraine’s president, calling him a dictator and saying that Russia wouldn’t have attacked if it wasn’t for Ukraine.
