**Trump Speaks Out on Ukraine War**
US President-elect Donald Trump has spoken about the war in Ukraine. He called it a “horrible-horrible war”.
During a speech in Phoenix, Arizona, Trump said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin wants to meet with him soon. This means there will be no war until then.
Trump thinks the war is getting out of control. He said that millions of soldiers are being killed, but this can’t be proven by either side. He described the war as “flat land”, where powerful bullets and guns are being used.
The war started in 2014 when Russia took over Crimea and parts of Ukraine. A leaked peace treaty from April 2022 showed that Putin wanted to keep Crimea for Russia and limit Ukraine’s military.
Trump said that if he were President, this full-scale war would never have happened. He is now waiting for a meeting with Putin before trying to stop the war.
