U.S. President Donald Trump recently spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On February 12, Trump had a phone call with Zelensky. The Ukrainian president said that they talked about achieving peace in the country. He added that Ukraine wants peace more than anyone else and is working together with America to stop Russian aggression.
Before his call with Zelensky, Trump spoke with Putin for over an hour. During their conversation, they agreed that negotiations to end the war in Ukraine would start right away. Trump also said on social media that he wanted to put a stop to the millions of deaths happening in the war between Russia and Ukraine.
The Kremlin confirmed that Trump and Putin talked for 90 minutes. They also invited Trump to visit Moscow.
Trump announced that a team, led by Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, would lead the negotiations. U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Rubio will meet Zelensky on February 14 to start official peace talks.
