**US President Trump Angry at Putin**
US President Donald Trump is angry with Russian President Vladimir Putin‘s demands regarding Ukraine, NBC News reported.
Trump made the comments in a call with journalist Kristen Welker. He said Putin’s latest demand for a transitional government that would replace Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky suggests that peace talks are not going well.
**Tariffs on Russian Oil**
If Trump thinks Russia is preventing peace talks from progressing, he has threatened to impose tariffs on Russian oil. “I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia,” he said. This would mean a 25% tariff on all oil bought from Russia.
**Relationship with Putin**
However, Trump also said that he has a good relationship with Putin and that anger dissipates quickly if Putin does the right thing. He plans to speak with his Russian counterpart again in the near future.
**Russia’s Rejection of Truce**
Moscow previously rejected a full 30-day truce agreed upon by the US and Ukraine unless it included conditions undermining Ukraine’s ability to defend itself, including a full halt on foreign military aid.
**Increased Attacks on Ukraine**
Despite occasional measures against Russia, Trump has not taken concrete steps to put pressure on Moscow. Instead, he has focused his leverage on Ukraine and President Zelensky, cutting off US military aid and intelligence sharing.
