In 2022, when Russia started full-scale of Ukraine, Stefanik said that Ukraine should join NATO. She also said the US should give Ukraine more weapons to fight against Russia. When asked about this by CNN after Trump chose her for the UN job, Stefanik’s said she now agrees with Trump.

Stefanik was one of many lawmakers who were sanctioned by Russia for supporting Ukraine. She even called these sanctions a “badge of honor”. Later, when some Republicans started to oppose giving aid to Ukraine, Stefanik voted against a $60 billion aid package that eventually passed.

Now, after Trump’s victory in the presidential election, Stefanik has been chosen to lead US representation at the UN. President-elect Trump praised her as a strong and smart “America first” fighter.

People are trying to figure out what Trump will do about Ukraine. Some think he might try to end the war quickly by making a deal with Russia. Others hope that Trump won’t forget about Ukraine after so much money was spent its security.
