**Corruption Levels Rise in Serbia, Says Survey**
A recent survey by Transparency Serbia shows that many citizens believe corruption levels have increased. The survey was conducted on a sample of 1,000 adults in Serbia.
Most respondents think corruption has gotten worse. 27% say it has increased significantly, while 23% say it has increased slightly. On the other hand, only 12% think corruption is decreasing.
**Corruption Becomes Major Concern**
The survey also shows that more people now consider corruption a major problem in Serbia. This year, 22% of respondents said corruption was the biggest issue in the country. In previous years, it was not considered as big of a concern.
According to Transparency Serbia’s Program Director Nemanja Nenadic, citizens are becoming more aware of corruption and its impact on their lives.
**Prosecutor’s Office Criticized**
The survey also shows that many people have lost trust in the prosecutor’s office. 71% believe that the institution does not prosecute those with political power, while 56% think prosecutors lack independence in their work.
**Positive Outlook**
Despite the negative attitudes towards corruption, respondents are optimistic about its future. 28% expect corruption levels to drop next year, likely due to recent arrests and efforts to combat corruption.
