A tense situation developed between police officers and protestors on 9 April Street near the Georgian Parliament building. The clash occurred during an ongoing protest calling for freedom for Mzia Amaglobeli.
**Protesters Gathered Near Parliament**
Civil activists and journalists initially gathered at the back entrance of Parliament, chanting slogans demanding Mzia’s release. As they decided to continue their protest on 9 April Street, police restricted their movement.
**Police Restraint Causes Tension**
Journalists explained to police that they meant no harm and just wanted to keep protesting. The police eventually allowed them to move onto the sidewalk. However, this peace was short-lived as officers later prevented journalists from standing there too.
**Individuals Removed From Area**
Two individuals were removed by police from the protest area. The law enforcement presence is strong, with officers deployed throughout Parliament’s grounds, including side streets and a nearby park.
