Residents of Sumy, Ukraine are dealing with the aftermath of a series of drone attacks by Russian forces. The attacks occurred overnight on November 22.
**Drone Attacks Cause Damage and Injury**
Multiple Shahed drones were launched at residential areas in Sumy, killing two people and injuring twelve others. Local authorities reported damage to apartment buildings, homes, and vehicles. Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar confirmed the deaths at different explosion sites in the city.
**Russian Strategy of Terror**
Russia’s attacks on residential areas and energy infrastructure are part of a broader strategy aimed at terrorizing civilians and demoralizing the population. The Ukrainian Air Force had warned about the Russian drone attack threat before the strikes occurred.
**Emergency Response**
The casualty count rose to twelve as emergency services reported rescuing two residents from a severely damaged apartment building. City Military Administration head Oleksiy Drozdenko initially said ten people were injured in the attack. The attacks occurred at 5:12, 5:25, and 5:50.
