Russian Forces Attack Service Station in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that two people were killed and another person was possibly trapped under debris after a Russian attack on a service station in the city of Sumy. The nearby residential building and kindergarten suffered significant damage.
Russia Continues to Target Civilian Areas
The Ukrainian Air Force detected 192 aerial targets, including ballistic missiles and drones, heading towards Ukraine overnight. This led to a blackout in Ternopil, a city in Western Ukraine. Zelenskyy said the attack was carried out using rocket launchers.
Only Way to Protect Against Such Attacks is to Destroy Russian Launch Installations
President Zelenskyy stated that destroying Russian launch installations on Russian territory is the only way to protect against such attacks. He emphasized that this is a crucial method to limit Russian terror and its ability to wage war.
Multiple Strikes in Sumy
The State Emergency Service reported another aviation strike in Sumy, damaging residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure. Emergency services managed to contain fire outbreaks.
