Russia’s artillery strikes have caused widespread destruction Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The attacks have resulted in the deaths of two railway workers and injured five others.

The Ukrainian railways reported that a artillery attack on their depot killed two workers and left three colleagues injured. The later confirmed the as a 58-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast head Lysak said that Russian forces targeted the district using artillery and kamikaze drones. He reported that five people, including three and two men, were injured in the attack. The shelling also damaged residential buildings, vehicles, a transport enterprise, and educational institution.

The attacks on Nikopol are part of a larger assault by Russia on Ukraine’s infrastructure. Russian forces have targeted Ukraine’s power grid with 90 drones and 120 missiles, causing power outages and civilian casualties.

This is not the first attack on Nikopol in recent days. Earlier, Russian forces had targeted a village in the Marhanets community, dropping explosives from drones and firing artillery. However, no casualties were reported in these earlier attacks.
