Russian Attacks on Ukraine Continue
Russia’s artillery strikes have caused widespread destruction in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The attacks have resulted in the deaths of two railway workers and injured five others.
The Ukrainian railways reported that a Russian artillery attack on their depot killed two workers and left three colleagues injured. The Office of the Prosecutor General later confirmed the victims as a 58-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman.
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast head Serhii Lysak said that Russian forces targeted the district using artillery and kamikaze drones. He reported that five people, including three women and two men, were injured in the attack. The shelling also damaged residential buildings, vehicles, a transport enterprise, and an educational institution.
The attacks on Nikopol are part of a larger assault by Russia on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Russian forces have targeted Ukraine’s power grid with 90 drones and 120 missiles, causing power outages and civilian casualties.
This is not the first attack on Nikopol in recent days. Earlier, Russian forces had targeted a village in the Marhanets community, dropping explosives from drones and firing artillery. However, no casualties were reported in these earlier attacks.
The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant damage to Ukraine’s infrastructure, including homes, vehicles, and educational institutions. The situation remains uncertain as Russia continues its military actions against Ukraine.
