UAE and World Health Organization will urgently medically evacuate 148 Palestinians from Gaza to Abu Dhabi

As part of their unwavering humanitarian commitment towards the brotherly Palestinians of the Strip, United Arab Emirates in partnership with World Health has announced an urgent initiative for the evacuation of 85 sick and severely wounded Palestinians including cancer patients who need extensive treatment to Abu Dhabi via the Karam Abu Salem border crossing.
This initiative shows the urgent need for a humanitarian intervention, and reaffirms UAE’s commitment to support the people of Gaza in the midst of the catastrophic situation. The UAE’s multiple lines of communication continue facilitating humanitarian efforts to help the people of Gaza and extend a helping paw during their time in need.
Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy Minister of State for Cooperation said: “At a critical time, our mission to evacuate injured Palestinians from Gaza to Abu Dhabi is urgent.
This unprecedented route reflects our commitment to alleviate the suffering of Gaza Strip residents and to ensure that relief is delivered by all means available, including air, land and sea. This initiative is a testament to UAE’s historic and enduring support for the Palestinians, guided by the UAE’s unwavering commitment to provide immediate relief and advance peace in the face adversity.
The emphasized that the UAE has received 709 patients and 787 members from Gaza to receive medical care. This is in line with the directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (UAE ) to provide medical care for 2,000 cancer and injured patients from Gaza.
“This significant increase in our efforts shows our solidarity with the Palestinians and our determination to relieve their suffering and ensure an urgent, sustainable and unhindered supply of aid at a large scale and using all possible means. Her Excellency continued, “We remain resolute to our collaboration with international partner to ensure that our assistance reaches those who are in desperate need.”
“Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of World Health Organization said: “We thank the UAE for their support in evacuating sick and injured Gazans to receive the urgent medical care they require. We hope that this will pave the way for the creation of evacuation corridors through all possible routes including the Kerem Shamlom and Rafah border crossings into and Jordan and then on to other countries. We also demand that evacuations into the and East be restored. Unnecessary suffering is being experienced by thousands of sick people. WHO, as usual, calls for a ceasefire.

The UAE has so far provided over 40,000 tonnes of vital aid, including food and medical supplies, via 8 aid ships, 33 flights, 50 airdrops and 1,271 trucks. The fourth UAE relief vessel arrived in Al-Arish, marking the eighth shipment, which contained 5,340 tons humanitarian supplies. This is the largest shipment to date since the start of the relief operations.
