**Ukraine and UK Sign 100-Year Partnership Agreement**
President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed a historic partnership agreement on January 16. The deal covers military, energy, scientific, cultural, economic, and other sectors.
The agreement is the latest in a series of partnerships between Ukraine and the UK. It builds upon trade and security agreements signed in 2020 and 2024.
The partnership has 10 main pillars:
* Strengthening defense capabilities
* Supporting Ukraine’s NATO aspirations
* Maritime security partnership
* Trade cooperation
* Energy cooperation
* Justice and accountability cooperation
* Countering foreign information manipulation and interference
* Science and technology cooperation
* Harnessing socio-cultural ties
* Migration cooperation
Starmer said the agreement is a major strategic success for Ukraine. It shows that Russia’s efforts to isolate Ukraine have failed.
The partnership comes as the UK considers deploying international peacekeepers to Ukraine after a potential ceasefire.
