**Ukraine Sells Radiorele Plant**
The Ukrainian government is selling the country’s largest manufacturer of switching equipment, the Radiorele plant in Kharkiv. This is part of the government’s plan to privatize state-owned assets to raise money for the war effort.
**Why Privatize?**
Privatizing state-owned assets is a way for Ukraine to save money and reduce corruption. The government has included Hr 3.2 billion ($76 million) in privatization proceeds in the 2025 budget. This will help the country’s economy during these difficult times.
**About Radiorele**
Radiorele produces electromagnetic switches and relays used in electrical systems. The plant was put up for auction before, but no buyer was found. Now, it is being sold again with a starting price of Hr 234.4 million ($5.6 million).
**Conditions of Sale**
The new owner must commit to keeping all 66 employees employed for the next six months. This is part of the government’s effort to protect workers during privatization.
**Recent Privatizations**
Ukraine has recently sold other state-owned assets, such as Hotel Ukraina and UMCC-Titanium, a titanium producer giant. These sales have raised money for the government and shown that privatization can be successful.
