**Ukraine Approves Homemade Armored Vehicle for Military Use**
The Ukrainian government has approved the use of a homemade armored vehicle called Oncilla-Shturm. This was announced by the Defense Ministry on November 27.
**What is the Oncilla-Shturm?**
The Oncilla-Shturm is an armored personnel carrier that can carry seven people, including three crew members and six riflemen. It has armor that protects soldiers from small arms fire, debris, and explosive ordnance.
**Key Features**
The vehicle is equipped with a remote-controlled combat module that has a large-caliber machine gun. This allows it to travel long distances, over 700 kilometers (434 miles), without needing refueling. The Oncilla-Shturm can also be produced in several different versions.
**Ukraine’s Defense Production**
Ukraine started developing its defense production after Russia invaded the country in February 2022. The government has been working on producing long-range missiles and drones, among other equipment.
