Ukraine’s Government Speaks Out
Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has criticized the government in Georgia. They say that the use of force against peaceful protesters in Tbilisi was not right.
Protests started after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said on November 28 that Georgia would delay its talks with the European Union until the end of 2028. The MFA says this decision is connected to Georgia’s democratic problems and influence from Russia.
The protests were peaceful, but police used force to stop them. Ukraine’s MFA says this action was unjustified. They are calling on Georgia to respect its citizens‘ wishes for a closer relationship with Europe and to continue reforms.
