**Ukraine Destroys Russian Air Defense System**
A drone unit in the Ukrainian National Guard has destroyed a Russian air defense system worth $10 million. This was reported by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko on November 16.
The system, called BUK-M1, is a Soviet-era anti-aircraft missile system that Russia uses to defend its airspace. Ukraine also uses this system, but with American-made missiles.
The video of the destruction was shared by Klymenko on Telegram. It showed the drone targeting the system in one of the most active areas of the front line.
This is a significant loss for Russia’s air defense capabilities. According to reports from the Ukrainian General Staff, this is Russia’s 1000th lost air defense system since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine began.
