In its latest operational update, the General Staff of Ukraine‘s Armed Forces reported that a Russian Mi-8 helicopter had been destroyed in Kharkiv Oblast.
The Mi-8 was a Soviet–era transport aircraft that is used by both the Russian government and military departments. It can be used for both combat and command purposes.
The helicopter is estimated to cost between $10-15 million.
According to the General Staff update of October 11, Russia has lost a total of 329 helicopters from the beginnings of the full-scale invasion in February 2022.
