Lithuania’s Ministry of Economy and Innovation signed a letter of intention with a Ukrainian firm to build a new generation RDX explosives plant in Lithuania. This was reported by the Lithuanian Ministry of Economy and Innovation 16 October.
Many in the Baltic States are afraid that if Ukraine falls down, Russia may target them next. The project to build an explosives factory aims at strengthening the defense capabilities of Ukraine and Europe. According to the report, construction of the factory will begin in 2025. RDX is widely used in ammunition manufacturing and is known for having superior properties compared to other modern explosives. These include its high explosive power and sensitivity, as well as an extremely fast detonation.
