Russia Attacks Ukraine with Drones and Missiles
Russian forces launched a series of air attacks on Ukrainian cities overnight. The attacks included drones, missiles, and bombs.
According to reports from Ukraine’s Air Force and regional authorities, the Russian forces used 110 Shahed drones and other types of drones along with guided missiles and bombs. The attacks were reported in several regions, including Kyiv and Kharkiv.
The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that their air defenses intercepted and destroyed 46 drones in various regions. Another 60 drones crashed to the ground, and two left Ukrainian airspace and headed towards Belarus.
Russia also launched two surface-to-surface missiles from Russia’s Kursk Oblast to Chernihiv Oblast. The Air Force reported that guided air bombs were dropped in Sumy and Kharkiv Oblasts.
The attacks caused at least 11 people to be injured. One person was killed in Zaporizhzhia when a residential area was hit by Russian bombs.
The mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, reported an explosion in the city on November 11th. Three civilians were hurt in the attack.
Sumy Oblast officials reported that their region is being bombarded daily with an average of 30 guided drones and 40 bombs. The latest attacks caused severe infrastructure damage and injured six people.
The Ukrainian Air Force said they do not have the means to shoot down a type of guided bomb used by Russia, known as KAB. They also do not have a Patriot battery that can destroy S-300 missiles.
Air raid alerts were issued in several regions following the attacks.
