Ukraine Prepares for Robot-Assisted Defense
Thousands of robotic vehicles are being sent to Ukraine‘s frontlines. This is happening as Russia attacks with small infantry groups almost every day.
The Ukrainian military has bought thousands of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). These machines can help evacuate wounded soldiers, bring supplies, and fire guns from safe positions. They will reduce the number of human losses in battles.
According to government officials, Ukraine plans to buy tens of thousands more UGVs next year. The robotic vehicles are already being used on the frontlines and in the Kursk region of Russia.
Ukraine has made a big purchase of robotic ground systems. In November, the Defense Procurement Agency signed contracts worth nearly $7.3 million for hundreds of UGVs. The Ministry of Digital Transformations is also buying drones to support the military’s efforts.
The procurement includes different types of UGVs:
* Reconnaissance and strike machines that can move around, watch, and attack
* Logistics vehicles that can transport supplies
* Remote-controlled combat modules
* Machines for mining operations
