**US Sends Advanced Mines to Ukraine**
The US is giving Ukraine advanced mine systems. These will help Ukraine create strong defenses against Russian attacks.
**New Military Aid Package**
A new aid package from the US includes anti-personnel mines and M131 Modular Pack Mine Systems (MOPMS). This helps Ukraine’s military prepare for battles with Russia.
**Important for Ukrainian Defenses**
The MOPMS is a portable system that allows soldiers or vehicles to quickly lay minefields. It has both anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, making it a strong tool against enemy forces.
**How the M131 MOPMS Works**
The M131 MOPMS system is a small “suitcase” that contains seven cassettes with 21 mines each. These mines are launched from the container up to 35 meters away. A single container creates a minefield 70 meters wide and 35 meters deep.
**Ukraine’s Success with Mines**
Earlier, Ukrainian forces set up mine-explosive barriers in Kursk Oblast and damaged over 20 Russian military vehicles. This includes seven armored personnel carriers and five T-72 tanks.
